Exploring Unreal Engine
Unreal Engine 5 is powerful game engine that carries so much potential than Unity. I studied Unreal Engine a bit and experienced its interface and key feature such as the Lumen and Raytracing.
Simple scene created with UE5
With the Unreal, I learned how to create simple but astonishing scenes, which is called level in the Unreal, free and fast.
Unreal Engine is also better suitable for the competitive multiplayer game development because of its native multiplayer support. UE5 uses C++ as main language, but also provide thorough visual scripting tools (blue print). With Unreal Engine, I want to someday create an astonishing AAA game that captivates players into my world.
I also studied C++ in Stanford Summer Pre-College program because I wanted to dig deeper into the Unreal Engine. Learning C++ was challenging but taught me valuable lessons such as code optimization in terms of computer resources managements. If I finish my current projects, I would like to move my workspace into Unreal Engine.
Game Design for Good
In 'Game Design For Good', I learned how to design games for positive social impact. The course prompted me to consider the ethical aspects of game development and how we can use games as a medium to improve people's lives.
